Haven’t you ever wondered what 3D technology is really all about? Most of our references to 3D technology come from the 3D movies that are all a furore nowadays. The critical difference between those and 3D smart cameras, arises from converting 2D to 3D as opposed to acquiring in 3D. Through the use of a process called Triangulation, a point cloud image of the object can be obtained to get the shape of the component in x, y, z coordinates.
