Introduction

In the rapidly evolving field of machine vision, staying ahead of the curve is crucial for success. At Qualitas Technologies, we recently organized a highly anticipated and successful training event focused on Machine Vision in Bangalore, India. Over the course of two enlightening days, attendees were immersed in a comprehensive agenda designed to enhance their understanding and expertise in this exciting technology.

Day 1 Highlights

Kick-starting the event, we began with a warm welcome and introductions, setting the stage for a productive and engaging learning experience. Throughout the day, participants delved into the fundamental aspects of Machine Vision, exploring its applications, benefits, and its limitations. Through exercises and shared experiences, attendees discovered the diverse applications of Machine Vision, including classification, object detection, counting, measurement, flaw detection, print defect detection, and locating.

The agenda seamlessly transitioned into an enlightening use case video walkthrough, bringing practical insights and real-world examples to the forefront. Participants then enjoyed a well-deserved lunch break, providing an opportunity for networking and further discussion.

Afternoon sessions focused on the different parts of a Machine Vision system, beginning with an introduction to all its components and pre-process automation requirements. Attendees actively engaged in exercises, selecting cameras, identifying trigger requirements, designing lens focal lengths, and utilizing demo kits for hands-on sessions.

Day 1 concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where attendees had the opportunity to address their queries and gain further clarity on the topics covered. The day left participants eager and excited for the knowledge to come in Day 2.

Day 2 Highlights

Day 2 commenced with a quick recap of Day 1, ensuring that the concepts and insights from the previous day were fresh in everyone’s minds. Participants then delved deeper into the remaining parts of a Machine Vision system, specifically focusing on image processing, including monochrome and color basics, different software approaches, and when to implement rule-based systems or ML (AI, ML, DL) methodologies.

The morning continued with a comprehensive exploration of post-process automation, covering user interface selection and effective communication strategies. Participants engaged in hands-on exercises using QEP Cloud, gaining practical experience and enhancing their skills.

After lunch, the agenda shifted towards implementation preparation, addressing essential aspects such as business qualification, technical requirement analysis, statement of work (SOW), budgeting, vendor sourcing, and project planning. The day concluded with an insightful discussion on post-implementation tasks, including maintenance, updates, troubleshooting, and accuracy verification.

The training event culminated with a final Q&A session, allowing attendees to seek clarifications and discuss practical scenarios. Snacks breaks throughout the day provided an opportunity for networking, sharing experiences, and connecting with industry peers.
