Bearing Roller Surface Inspection

Roller curvature, reflections and changing finish can make surface anomalies difficult to image consistently.

Bearing Roller Surface Inspection

Reference approach

Bearing Roller Surface Inspection application illustration
Application illustration from existing Qualitas collateral; not evidence of a named customer deployment.

Present the roller surfaces under controlled lighting and arrange views or rotation for the required coverage. Detect agreed surface defects and associate results with the individual roller.

What a pilot should establish

  • Include end faces, curved surfaces, oil films and normal grinding marks in the trial.
  • Agree the pass, fail and uncertain outcomes before testing. Record incorrect accepts and incorrect rejects separately using an independent sample set.

An exposed-side image does not establish full circumferential coverage; verify the handling and capture sequence.

Outputs and line integration

Define the result required by the next process step, the time available to return it and the action for an uncertain result. Where records are needed, keep the image and decision tied to the inspected item or handling event.

Technical reference

Share roller variants, defect standards and rotation or handling constraints. We can define the imaging approach, integration points and a sample-based validation plan.
