Our client was established in 1962 and started operations in India from 1930 to providing warranty and after-sales service to many of the imported vehicles which carried their parts. Initially, they commenced providing complete system solutions in Auto Electricals, specialized motors for Air Compressors, Stop-Start systems, Engine Cooling modules, Ignition products, Diesel Fuel Injection systems, etc.

PROBLEMS

  • Due to the complexities of a PCB assembly, it is highly time-consuming to check for the presence of the required resistors. The size of the capacitors are very small and difficult to identify
  • Complexities in the assemblies cause labor fatigue and further, reduce the efficiency of inspection
  • The client has deployed 20 operators to verify the assemblies with offline inspection

CLIENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Automate the offline inspection of PCBs to verify the assembly with the help of a vision system to attain high accuracy and efficiency
  • Identify the presence or absence of C25, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, R9 resistors
  • Decrease the inspection cycle time in order to increase the production rate to meet the demands of their clients
  • Reduce the manpower at the inspection station and utilize them in other operations to increase the operation efficiency
